We reach isolated individuals through community hubs, referrals, and outreach — meeting people where they are.

Each year, thousands of newcomers arrive in Calgary carrying skills, ambition, and resilience that the broader community rarely sees. The barriers they face — language gaps, unfamiliar systems, cultural isolation, limited networks — are real.
EFBCS exists to remove those barriers and activate that potential. Not through charity that creates dependency, but through programmes that build confidence, create leaders, and multiply impact organically.

Latifa brings over 18 years of experience in community development, women's empowerment, and newcomer settlement — across Canada and internationally. She founded EFBCS not from theory, but from lived experience translated into action.
